It was the summer of 1987, I was 27 years old and a single parent of a 2-year-old son called Sean. At the time I had actually simply accepted a management position with a business I had actually formerly dealt with for over 7 years. There was only one glitch; my office was about 40 miles from home. I would drive 30 to 45 minutes to and from work, but I needed the cash so I was prepared to make the sacrifice.

When you're working inside your organization it's challenging to see the big photo. It's like being downtown any significant U.S. city - high-rise structures everywhere. At street level, it's challenging to see the blue sky, without looking directly up. While working in your organization, it resembles being at street level, hard to see the possibilities.
A few years ago, a company gal buddy of mine called me up. She proposed that we form a little local service gal pal network to brainstorm business advancement. As soon as a year, we 4 gals get together and brainstorm about service development. We each come prepared with business prepare for our small companies, along with the greatest obstacles and questions we face. We invest 4 hours concentrating on everyone's small organization. We use services, suggestions, resources, assistance, and a lot of laughter. We come away concepts, motivation, hope, and creativity for our small companies. Can you think of a few organization friends you could grab to form this kind of mastermind group?
Be generous. Give organization cards out to everyone, including household and good friends. Don't let vanity stop you from providing your last company card or providing 2 at a time to each individual. I have met lots of people who have totally missed the function of an organization card. I once asked a person for a 2nd service card, so I might refer his services. His response was "I only have a few cards left and I require them", as he looked once again at his name on the card. Hoarding your business cards only makes your wallet feel full, not your checking account.
HERE'S ANOTHER BAILOUT Maybe we must stop whining about China all the time. One recent report listed 25 American items that count on huge protective trade tariffs just to endure. (Hey! That's the jacket I wore to every high school dance on slide No. 8.) I wager these organization owners aren't complaining about the government.
You don't need to be certified in personnels, either. Much like marketing, there is a broad variety of certificates, diplomas, and degrees to select from. And while people joint venture partner skills are an important part of beginning a business, you don't require the main approval of somebody else to show that you do.
